For anyone around the Anoka area, the construction news on the town's main street is nothing new. However, the news that Anoka's Downtown and West Main Street are ready to welcome back it's citizens is something new. After two years of construction set to widen the sidewalks, build new roads, and liven up the area with landscaping, the downtown area is ready for action. The city has always been said to cater to pedestrians and with the new refreshing look, the city accomodates that notion even more so.
Join Anoka in the Grand Reopening this Saturday, November 10th. The city is giving away prizes like a $1000 Anoka shopping spree and has many other events and festivies taking place. Parking is free and so is the entire event. The Anoka Downtown is also located near the Mississippi River Community, a well traveled area for guests of Anoka.
The Chanhassen Dinner Theater has been around since 1968 and presented 220 shows. Dinner and a show is given a new level of style and class at the Anoka County fixture. Currently, the beautiful venue is showing the classic Bye Bye Birdie, the beloved story about a rock and roll star named Conrad Birdie. Enjoy the musical presented by the Chanhasseen Dinner Theater, a play that has been a main stay on Broadway and Tony Award Winner. Bye Bye Birdie is running now through January 26th, 2013.
